Bidders List Application

Bids and quotes are secured from responsible vendors who are capable of supplying the needed product or service, and have a current Bidders List Application on file in the Support Services office. Bidders List Applications may be requested by telephone, fax, email, or mail at:

Bid Guidelines

Competitive bidding shall be practiced whenever practical, beneficial, or required by law. MCOE guidelines for purchasing are as follows:

  • Under $100 (Requisitions generally processed as requested)
  • $100-$500 (Telephone/fax quotes solicited if determined to be advantageous to the MCOE)
  • $500-2500 (Three or more quotes sought. Quotes may be obtained by telephone, fax, or in writing)
  • $2500-14,999 for work to be done or $2500-49,999 for materials (Three or more written or faxed quotes or Request for Proposals)
  • $15,000 or greater for work to be done or $50,000 (adjusted upwards annually for inflation) or more for material (Formal, advertised, written bids)
  • Standard School Bid General Conditions 2009-2010

Bid Receipt - Opening Award

Bids must be received in the Support Services Office (Room J-10) in a sealed envelope identified with the bid name/number prior to the date and time specified. Bids received after the deadline will be returned unopened to the vendor. No exceptions.

Vendor presence at bid openings is not required, although vendors are welcome to attend. The MCOE does not provide bid results over the telephone. Bids are available for review in the Support Services office. Tabulations, if available and requested, may be faxed or mailed.

The purchase of goods and/or services will be let to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, or all bids may be rejected. The evaluation of awards may be based upon price, specifications, past performance, delivery, compatibility with existing equipment and/or materials, completion time, or other factor(s) outlined in the bid documents.

MCOE purchases are awarded solely on objective criteria. Promotional efforts should not include premiums, gifts, favors, or any form of personal consideration to any MCOE employee.


Vendor Hours - Directions

Vendor hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Appointments are preferred.  Directions to the MCOE complex can be found here.
