The Support Services Department, directed by Terry Ruscoe, is responsible for the Facilities, Purchasing, Maintenance, Operations, Utility, Printing and Transportation Services of the Merced County Office of Education.  The department serves all 20 districts.

The Support Services Department provides school facility development and construction services for all MCOE educational facilities throughout the County. These services include the following: design and architectural support, real estate acquisition and entitlement, bidding and contract implementation, construction management and financial management of building projects and state acceptance of completed projects. These professional services are also made available to the more than 120 school sites represented by the MCOE.  

Maintenance, Operations, Utility and Transportation divisions, under the direction of the Support Services Department, provides support for many county sites; including maintenance on the Office of Education’s fleet of vehicles.

Stores and Warehousing services fall under the direction of the Support Services Department with supplies from paper, coffee, and forms, to high technology equipment being processes through our Stores department before delivery to the many MCOE Divisions; including, Special Education, Migrant Education, ROP, etc.

Print Shop operations also fall under the direction of Support Services, and do a variety of projects for our schools as well as schools outside of our district; printing many ROP projects such as Job-Finder Handbooks, carbonless forms, bound reports, letterhead, envelopes, and much more.

Professional services and Support Staff designations include a Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Chief Business Official, Real Estate Broker, MBA and graduate in architecture.
