MCOE Safety Committee

The Merced County Office of Education has formed a Safety Committee to address and investigate safety issues. Functions of the Committee include:

1. Meet on a regular basis, not less than quarterly
2. Review the results of facility inspections
3. Prepare written records of the safety and health issues discussed, and make copies available to all affected employees
4. Review investigations of occupational accidents and causes of incidents resulting in injury, illness, or exposure to hazardous substances
5. Review "near miss" incidents, where appropriate
6. Review investigations of alleged hazardous conditions brought to the attention of any committee member
7. Submit recommendations to assist in the evaluation of employee safety suggestions, where appropriate
8. Upon request from OSHA, verify corrective action(s) taken.
