MCOE Safety Committee
The Merced County Office of Education has formed a Safety Committee to address and investigate safety issues. Functions of the Committee include:
- Meet on a regular basis, not less than quarterly
- Review the results of facility inspections
- Prepare written records of the safety and health issues discussed, and make copies available to all affected employees
- Review investigations of occupational accidents and causes of incidents resulting in injury, illness, or exposure to hazardous substances
- Review "near miss" incidents, where appropriate
- Review investigations of alleged hazardous conditions brought to the attention of any committee member
- Submit recommendations to assist in the evaluation of employee safety suggestions, where appropriate
- Upon request from OSHA, verify corrective action(s) taken.
