​District Services Payroll​

The District Services Payroll team is responsible for reviewing all district payroll transactions, processing supplemental and end-of-month payrolls, preparing and transmitting deposits and financial reports for Federal and State tax withholding, State Teachers Retirement System (STRS), Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), FICA, Medicare, and State Unemployment Insurance/School Employees Fund (SUI/SEF); facilitating in-service training for district payroll personnel, and assisting all 20 school districts in Merced County as well as Merced County Office of Education's internal payroll. This department issues W-2s for more than 13,000 full-time employees, substitutes, and part-time employees.  Total gross payroll in 2016 exceeded $414 million.
 

The District Services team strives for continuous improvement in order to provide guidance and support in a friendly, professional manner, and to maintain compliance with Federal and State tax and retirement laws.
