Class Description
Foundations in Early Education is designed to develop the skills necessary to work in the early childhood education field. This field includes working with infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children as well as working in extended day care facilities and family childcare centers. Training will include understanding the developmental stages for child growth and development; child health and safety care; child nutrition; guidance and discipline procedures; intellectual and physical activities; how to compile and use reference materials and how to use audio-visual materials. Course content is applicable to infant and toddler programs, preschool programs, kindergartens, and primary education. This class is taught in a combination of classrooms and community site training.
