Paraprofessional Teacher
Training Program
The Merced County Office of Education (MCOE) sponsors a Paraprofessional Teacher Training Program (PTTP) project. The project is funded through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). It is a career ladder program designed to assist teaching paraprofessionals to attain their teaching credential. MCOE is the lead agency for a consortium of 15 school districts.
Paraprofessionals selected as participants in the PTTP are provided with various levels of support. Once accepted into the program, participants will be required to complete their credential in a timely manner. Participants repay the support they received through teaching service in local school districts.
Who qualifies?
To be considered for selection into the program you must:
- be employed by a consortium school district (see below);
- work in a classified position as a "teaching" paraprofessional; and
- have a goal of attaining a multiple-subject, single-sunject, or special education teaching credential.
If these are your goals, complete an application packet and submit it to your employing school district.
