MCOE supports school districts across Merced County and offers a wide range of unique programs that serve students inside and outside of the classroom.
The Role of the County Office of Education
The main function of a County Office of Education is to support local school districts by providing services, leadership and oversight.
Virginia Smith Trust
The VST was born from the will of Merced native Virginia Smith. Since its inception in 1976, the trust has benefited nearly 3,700 eligible students through nearly $6 million in scholarships.
Camp Green Meadows
Located just outside of Yosemite National Park, the outdoor school combines science education with outdoor adventure, allowing students to explore and discover the natural world around them.
Wired Café
A fully functional community cafe that offers internet access, light bites and coffee. The cafe also doubles as a training facility for students enrolled in MCOE’s special education program.
