Program Structure
PLTI consists of a 20-week curriculum designed to meet once a week for three hours, providing dinner and childcare at each session. It includes four key phrases:
1. Retreat: Develops group cohesion and defines a collective mission.
2. Parent Leadership Course (10 Weeks): Focuses on family development milestones, community needs assessments, communication, and accessing community resources.
3. Local Politics and Policy (10 Weeks): Teaches participants about public policy, children's law, government functions, and evaluation techniques.
4. Community Project: Each participant completes an individual project that applies their learning to address a local issue.
