Early Education Career Pathways

Family, Friend & Neighbor icon

Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN)

A Family, Friend, or Neighbor is care provided in the child’s or childcare provider’s home by the person who is a relative, friend, neighbor, or other license-exempt provider.

Licensed Family Home Childcare Providers icon

Licensed Family Home Childcare Providers

A Licensed Family Home Child Care regularly provides care, protection, and supervision of children, in the caregiver’s own home, for periods less than 24 hours per day while the parents or authorized representatives are away. 

Early Childhood Educator 

An Early Childhood Educator works directly with children in an eligible preschool program or eligible early childhood education program that involves directly caring, developing, and educating infants, toddlers, or young children aged five and under. 

Transitional Kindergarten Teacher

Under the direction of the principal, the Transitional Kindergarten Teacher provides an educational program and environment that promotes learning and personal growth for students in a self-contained classroom.
