Automotive Technology
The Automotive Technology Program is structured to serve the trainee who plans to seek employment immediately or to pursue advanced training in a post-secondary Automotive Training Program. The purpose of the program is to prepare technicians who can demonstrate the skills necessary to diagnose service and repair automotive vehicles. Instruction is designed and aligned to the California State Academic Standards along with NATEF Industry Standards. Demonstration of knowledge & skills with ASE Standards A1-A8 engine repair, Automotive Transmissions, Suspension Systems, Brakes, Electronic/Electrical systems, Heating & Air Conditioning, Engine performance. Trainees will complete hands-on training internships with local business community classrooms. Trainees will also receive certifications in safety and pollution prevention from S/P2 Automotive Safety.

Deven Chew
My name is Deven Chew, I’m proud to be an ROP Automotive Teacher. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Fresno State and my Master’s Degree from National University. I am certified to teach Automotive Technology from being employed in the Automotive Industry and have Current ASE certifications. I have been teaching automotive skills since 2004. In addition to teaching at Modesto JC in the automotive technology since 2006. I have a true passion for working with learners who want to be employed in the Automotive Industry. It is a personal goal for every student to be able to pay the highest income tax possible. I look forward to finding more energetic people who are looking to be employed in the Automotive Industry.
