Computerized Office Technology

This program is designed for today’s “High Tech” employees and focuses on the computer technology and business office skills employers are looking for.  Emphasis is placed on developing proficiency with touch keyboarding, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, as well as training in the use of a variety of office equipment.  Students have the opportunity to become Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certified in Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook. Students learn the integration of these programs using software that meets industry standards. All students will complete an internship in our business community.

Instructor Bio

Teresa Machado

Teresa Machado came to Merced County Office of Education with a long history of industry experience. In 1980, as an Operations Manager for a hardware store for 15 years, and an Employment & Training Specialist III with Merced County for 8+ years. She is also a part time instructor with Merced College providing computer applications and business classes. Teresa has taught the Marketing, Computerized Office Technology, Medical Office Administration and Accounting ROP Programs since 2008. Teresa attained a Merced County National Workforce Professional Certificate 2005, and Microsoft Office Specialist - Associate Certification in 2022. She has forty plus years’ experience in management, leadership and teaching as well as curriculum development; within the education sector.
