Construction Technology
The Construction Technology course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to train in the field of Construction Trades, and to obtain specific technical skills necessary for both new construction and remodeling projects. Included in this course are classroom and work-based learning experiences related to safety, construction processes, rough and finished carpentry standards, buildings standards and codes, construction materials, new technology, tools and equipment and career opportunities. Students will receive instruction in the classroom, shop, laboratory, and on job sites. Students will receive certifications in Construction Industry Safety (SP/2, OSHA10) and safe equipment operation (skip loader and skid steer). All methods of instruction are aligned to Construction Industry Standards.
Instructor Bio
David Pope
David Pope has been teaching Construction Trades since 2013, with work experience including carpentry, concrete, painting, and woodworking. He has built single family homes and worked on various remodel projects in the Fresno, Sacramento and Merced areas since 2007. David is passionate about meeting students where they are on their life path and helping them to pursue their desire to learn and obtain a career in the Construction industry.
