Instructor Bio
Lyn Shields
My transportation career started with hazmat trucking, and I've since driven a range of commercial vehicles, including tankers, flatbeds, vans, and commodities. I have navigated the breadth of the 48 contiguous states, while transporting everything from livestock to hazardous materials.
As my career matured, I have undertaken the role of training and supervising fellow drivers. I have found great satisfaction in the challenge of imparting not only driving skills but also the self-assuredness essential for novice drivers. I have eagerly shared the wealth of knowledge I have amassed throughout my career.
In 2022, I embarked on a new chapter in my career as a Professional Truck Driver Instructor with the Merced County Office of Education. I was driven by the conviction that I had valuable insights to offer aspiring drivers, not only in their pursuit of a CDL but also in comprehending the intricacies of the trucking industry. My objective is to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to embark on their truck driving careers with confidence and competence.
