Migrant Education is a federally funded program that provides educational and support services to eligible migrant children each year. These services help children of migrant workers overcome the disadvantages they face, including disruption to their education.

Migrant Education Region III operates under the auspices of the Merced County Office of Education. The Region is divided into a three-county area: Merced, Madera, and Stanislaus counties.

The program identifies over 6,000 migrant students. Over two-thirds of the children receive supplemental services. These services are provided through agreements with 51 districts across the three county area.
