After you have submitted your enrollment forms and elgibility documentation to enroll in benefits, your employee benefits specialist will upload you into the SISC system and you will receive your physical medical cards in the mail 1-2 weeks following the upload. If you are a new employee and you begin with MCOE anytime after September, you are considered a Late Hire. Health Benefit Premiums are spread out over the insurance year by 11 months, not 12. MCOE employees do not pay deductions in the month of July and this means that there will likely be a one-time adjustment that affects you! You'll find tools and resources to help you and your household members with everyday issues, big and small. It's available to you 24/7 at no extra cost, and everything you share is confidential. MCOE participates in the SISC Health Benefits Program, and this requires 100% participation of all full-time employees.

• Full-time employees must enroll in the SISC Health Benefits Program — this is mandatory.

• Dependents are optional— you can choose whether or not to include them.

You Can Opt Out Only If You're Covered By:

• Medi-Cal

• Covered California

• Medicare

• Tricare

• VA Insurance

If one of these applies:

1. Fill out the Declination Form.

2. Submit proof of your current coverage (a copy of your insurance card).

3. Send both to your benefits specialist.

Important Reminders:

• Once you and/or your dependents opt out, you can't re-enroll until:

  • Open Enrollment, or

  • You have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) (like marriage, birth of a child, etc.).

• You must report a QLE within 30 days for it to allow re-enrollment.
