Doug began his now 40-year printing career in the early 1960s watching and helping his dad, Bill Huggins, in the MCOE Print Shop located on the 3rd floor of the old Courthouse.
From 1977-1979 he worked at Speedy Press in Merced until he and his brother opened Huggy’s Print Shop. In 2000 he was contacted by MCOE which at the time needed help in the MCOE Print Shop. He worked as a temporary pressman for six months after which he was hired as a full-time Printing Technician. His job consisted of operating three different printing presses and bindery work.
In 2006, Doug applied and was hired as the Graphics & Publishing Technician. Doug was then and is now in charge of the Print Shop operations and marketing our services to MCOE departments and surrounding districts.
