Merced County Office of Education

 Graphics & Publishing Specialist

Carlos Lupian

Can a single moment in one’s life change their future? For the Print Shop’s Graphics & Publishing Specialist, Carlos Lupian it did. As a high school student trying to figure out which path in life to take, he was introduced to the Regional Occupational Program’s Graphic Arts Occupations Class held at MCOE’s Wolfe Educational Center. As a result of this class, Carlos joined the student organization VICA competing in public speaking, interviewing, desktop publishing and designing, planting the seed for a career in printing and graphic design.

After high school graduation, Carlos began his printing career in Denver, Colorado at a local Print Shop. After several years of continuing experience he would eventually manage this Print Shop. Having a special knack for design, he started his own business designing new logos and updating old ones, while still maintaining their original feel.

As an employee of the Merced County Office of Education, he’s been able to use his graphic arts design skills designing logo’s for many of our departments. Carlos submitted one of his original designs in the 2013 Merced County Fair’s logo contest and won first place! The design was later used by the Merced County Fair on promotional material and billboards located throughout the county.

Carlos is definitely an example of “Every Student a Success” as a graduate of both Le Grand High School and the MCOE ROP Program.
