S.O.S. Referral

S.O.S. stands for “Supportive Ongoing Services” It is a multidisciplinary team that meets twice a month to assist families in problem solving and securing agency resources. The team includes Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, Public Health, Merced County Probation, Human Services Agency/Child Welfare, Valley Crisis Center, Central Valley Regional Center, and Schools within Merced County. The ultimate goal for S.O.S. is to keep families together by building on family strengths and providing coordinated resources. All agencies and families have access to Merced S.O.S. ​To provide information to children and parents regarding community resources that are available to families to prevent deeper involvement in the Probation/ Court system.
​FAMILY WELLNESS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION COUNCIL​The Family Wellness Council (FWC) provides a monthly venue for organizations to network and share resources in regards to promoting healthy families. The FWC works collaboratively with community partners to bring resources and education about child abuse and neglect prevention and strengthening family relationships. By working with other community partners, the FWC is able to target a variety of populations which include but are not limited to families with low income, professionals, providers, the general public, foster children and parents, nonprofit organizations that serve specialized or specific populations, and many others.
