Class DescriptionUC approved for “f” Fine Arts Credit This course is specifically designed to introduce students to the career fields related to the fashion industry. Students will be provided the opportunity to explore various aspects of the fashion industry. Instructional emphasis will include:the design elements and principles, history of fashion, fashion forecasting, textiles and textile products, developing and merchandising a line, garment construction in manufacturing, product knowledge and apparel merchandising, sales and service, and visual merchandising. Students will be introduced to the latest technology in the fashion industry. A section of the course will include employment preparation and self-evaluation. Second year students may be placed at a community training site.
