Karen Frank is the ROP Introduction to Health Careers and Medical Occupations instructor at Atwater High. She began teaching at Atwater High in 1984, and started teaching for ROP in 1999.

Mrs. Frank is an Atwater High graduate. She attended Merced Junior College and received her AA Degree in 1977. That same year she applied to the Radiologic Technology program and continued on for three more years to earn an AS Degree in Radiologic Technology.

Karen was hired at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, CA. She enrolled at CSU Stanislaus to finish her education and compete at the collegiate level in volleyball and tennis. She continued working at Memorial Hospital until she received her BA in Physical Education. She completed her teaching credential and was hired to teach at Atwater High School.

Karen coached tennis for her first seven years as a teacher, stopped coaching to raise her three sons and one daughter, and recently returned to coach volleyball and softball. She never stopped taking x-rays. She takes x-ray calls on weekends and during summer vacation to keep her license active and to stay abreast of what’s going on in the medical field. In her spare time she plays softball and goes bowling with her children.
