Class Description

ROP Health Careers is designed to introduce and prepare students for entry level employment in the health career profession. The course is designed to provide basic knowledge of medical and health concepts in preparation for students to successfully enroll and complete the community-based training ROP Medical Occupations course. The course content will include human growth and development, introduction to being a health care worker, body systems, introduction to medical terminology, cultural behaviors and practices, safety and infection control and an introduction to health careers. In addition, students will complete an Employability Portfolio and develop interview skills.​

Teacher Information
 
Brenda Lima was born and raised in Dos Palos California. She graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1978. She then attended Merced College where she graduated from the LVN Program. She previously spent 22 years employed at the Los Banos and Dos Palos Skilled Nursing Facilities. Along with teaching at Dos Palos High School, Brenda is a part-time instructor for the Nursing Assistant program at the Merced College Los Banos Campus.
