Class DescriptionThis course offers students the opportunity to learn about the management of the flow of materials and services between the point of origin and the point of use by customers. Logistics involves the integration of information, transportation, inventory, warehousing, material handling and packaging. Students will learn about how materials get to stores, warehouses, restaurants and other types of businesses. Once materials and goods are received, then businesses have to inventory the items and store them in their warehouses. Students will also learn the importance of workplace safety and proper operation of some warehousing equipment. Students will have the opportunity to use the information they receive in the classroom at a community work site.
