STRIVE provides a strong foundation for our program through a common posture and common expectations. Together we will STRIVE to make this your most successful year.

Vision

Valley Community Schools are committed to the success of every student.

Mission Statement

To nurture, inspire, and lead through innovative and unique experiences.

Welcome to another exciting year at Valley Community School. As we continue to provide educational opportunities to students across Merced County, we want to inform you of some changes this school year.

We have moved our daily high school program from the Merced location to our Atwater location. Our high school student population in Merced has continued to decrease during the past few years and we no longer have the capacity to keep the high school program in Merced. Transportation will be provided for students to attend the Atwater location.

Our daily middle school and Independent Study programs will continue in Merced. The middle school program will continue as a full-day program starting this year. We believe a longer school day will provide more learning time to support academic achievement and behavioral growth for students to prepare them to return to their school of residence.

Our staff is committed to working with students and their families as a team to ensure the success of every student. We will continue our STRIVE program, which ensures each student can attend school in a safe, trusted, respectful, inspirational, visionary, and encouraging environment that is conducive to learning and achievement. We will be integrating Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) to our STRIVE program to teach students the behavioral expectations at school.
