The Merced County Office of
Education is pleased to announce the Father of the Year Essay
Contest!
More than 10,000 students from throughout Merced County have participated in the years the contest has been conducted.
Students are asked to write a 300 word essay entitled, “What My Father Means To Me.” A team of trained Merced County volunteers will read each essay and choose the top three essays from each grade level. Fathers have the option of writing a response, which may be submitted along with their child’s essay.
We are particularly pleased
with your commitment to sustain the
event this year. Your dedication to advancing public awareness of fatherhood will go a long way toward encouraging better fathering in
Merced County. The community as a whole will benefit.
