The 25th Merced County Career Industry Day provided high school students from across Merced County with the opportunity to explore a variety of career pathways.
Hosted by Merced County Office of Education Regional Occupational Program, the event invited nearly 1,300 students and more than 120 representatives from a variety of industries, including construction, education, entertainment, health and law enforcement, among many others.
Students in attendance also gained insight from keynote speaker Brooks Harper, an author and career development expert and participated in hands-on activities related to specific industries.
About MCOE Regional Occupational Program:
The Regional Occupational Program (ROP) from Merced County Office of Education, offers quality programs in several industry sectors to high school students across Merced County. In addition to the skills developed for specific fields, each program helps students with an employability portfolio, review effective interviewing techniques and identify sources of employment. Career Industry Day is part of ROP’s Career Technical Education (CTE) Program.
