MCOE Job Training Technician Recognized by Association for Career and Technical Education

Merced County Regional Occupational Program Job Developer and Training Technician Greg Friedman was awarded the Counseling and Career Development Professional Award by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). Friedman was recognized for his contributions to career and technical education in Region V, which encompasses most of the Western United States.
The Counseling and Career Development Professional Award is given to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the field of career and technical education. These honorees are recognized for their ability to inspire others and serve as inspirational leaders in the field.
Friedman, who was named Counseling and Career Development Professional of the Year by ACTE in the spring, has worked in education since 2012. In his role with the Regional Occupation Program at the Merced County Office of Education, Friedman trains adult learners in soft skills and collaborates with local employers to assist students with career opportunities.
The 2025 ACTE National Awards finalists and winners will be celebrated at the ACTE Awards Gala on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. during the ACTE CareerTech VISION conference in San Antonio, Texas.
ACTE is the largest national association dedicated to advancing career and technical education for youth and adults.
