Approximately 200 high school seniors, community college students and family members from across Merced County attended the Cal-SOAP Cash4College Financial Aid Workshop, held on March 12 at the Merced College Learning Resource Center.
Assembled by representatives from Merced California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP), California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) and the Merced College Financial Aid Office, the workshop provided prospective college students with information, resources and assistance on college financing.
In addition to assistance with financial aid application procedures, the workshop offered the latest updates on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) and the extended CAL-Grant deadlines.
Representatives from the CSAC, Merced College, CSU Stanislaus, UC Merced and Fresno Pacific University were also in attendance to offer guidance and answer questions.
This was the first-ever Cal-SOAP Cash4College Financial Aid Workshop.
