Student Voices Unite in Performance at Merced Theatre

The Merced County Honor Choir took the stage at the historic Merced Theatre on Jan. 20 to showcase the musical prowess and vocal talents of students from schools across Merced County.

Students from Pacheco High School, Golden Valley High School, Los Banos High School and El Capitan High School together formed the honor choir, led by guest director Tom Faria, with additional performances from Weaver Performing Arts, Fremont Elementary School, Los Banos Junior High School and St. Paul Lutheran School.

Performances featured a wide range of musical selections both classical and contemporary, with a final performance of “Under the Sea” from Disney's The Little Mermaid, inviting all student choirs to the stage.

In collaboration with the Merced County Education Foundation and Merced County Office of Education, the honor choir showcases the talents of school choirs from across the county and provide students with the opportunity to come together and collaborate with peers.
