Migrant Students Attend Fresno State Central Valley Summer Program

Students from the Migrant Education Program, were invited to participate in the Fresno State Central Valley Summer Program, a four-week, all-expenses-paid residential program designed for migrant high school students.
Students from Region III participated in the summer program, funded by the Merced County Office of Education (MCOE) and the Fresno State College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). Region III serves students and families from Merced, Madera and Fresno counties.
Over the course of the program, students received instruction in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, integrated with English Language Development (ELD) at Fresno State. The courses are designed to help improve students' writing and mathematics skills and support their language development.
In addition to academic instruction, the program included college readiness, leadership development and cultural appreciation activities to equip students with skills and experiences for their academic and professional goals.
