Registration open for Parent Leadership Training Institute August cohort

Registration is open for the August session of the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI)— a civics and democracy leadership program designed to empower parents and community members to make positive changes in their schools, neighborhoods and local communities.

The free program is offered in both English and Spanish at Merced and Los Banos locations, with sessions beginning in August. PLTI provides participants with the tools and confidence to engage in civic life, advocate for families and influence public policy.

Sessions in Merced will take place at 1850 Wardrobe Ave., with English and Spanish cohort meetings on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Childcare is available for children ages three to 12.

Sessions in Los Banos will take place at the Los Banos Community Center, 645 7th St., with English sessions on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Spanish sessions on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. Childcare is available for children ages three to 12 during evening sessions and for children ages three to five during morning sessions.
