UC Merced Arts hosts Signed Performance of 'Panic in the Barnyard'
Students from schools across Merced County gathered at Peterson Elementary School in Merced on Monday, May 13, for a special signed presentation of "Panic in the Barnyard" — a production by the UC Merced Arts Children’s Opera.
The UC Merced Children’s Opera will tour several Merced County schools between May 13 and May 24, and held a community performance on May 17. The performance was free and open to the public.
Directed by UC Merced Lecturer Jenni Samuelson and based on the book and lyrics by Nancy Steele Brokaw, the May 13 performance kicked off the start of the tour and offered students from the deaf and hard of hearing community an opportunity to enjoy the UC Merced Arts production.
The production was sponsored by the Central Valley Community Foundation, the Coastal Community Foundation, the Merced County Office of Education and the Merced County Education Foundation, in collaboration with UC Merced Arts.
