Merced County Academic Decathlon
Celebrating its 44th year in Merced County, the Academic Decathlon pits area high schools against each other in a contest of academics. Students compete in the areas of art, economics, language and literature, mathematics, music, social science and science. Students also participate in communication events to showcase their Speech, Interview and Essay skills.
The Academic Decathlon is open to students in grades 9-12. A team consists of 9 members made up of 3 honor students, 3 scholastic students and 3 varsity students in accordance with the required grade point averages as indicated. Alternates can compete individually in 8 events at an additional cost.
The 2024-2025 Theme is "Our Changing Climate".
